EMLA:  

Eutectic Mixture of Local Anesthetics

A topical anesthetic cream mixture of lidocaine and prilocaine, often used locally on children for mildly invasive procedures such as venipunctures and intramuscular injections. The cream is placed on the skin in the area where the procedure is to be performed. After 30-60 minutes, the cream is removed and the procedure completed.
